About me

A little about me.

I’m Laurenz, an AI Engineer focused on agentic AI systems, LLM applications and AI architecture, with a background in machine learning, computer vision and reinforcement learning.

Beyond work

A love of sport and the outdoors.

Away from the keyboard, I love being active and spending time outside. Climbing, hiking and mountaineering are all things I enjoy — and skiing is a particular favourite.

My path into AI

It started with computer science in Bochum.

My studies at Ruhr University Bochum took me from localizing objects in escape plans to exploring visual representations for reinforcement learning. Those projects connected data preparation, model implementation, and evaluation with the surrounding application.

Alongside university, I worked in IT security consulting, project management, and data science. At ifm, my work included LLM-based product matching, web traffic analysis, and a web scraper hosted in Microsoft Azure.

I joined Capgemini as an AI Engineer in February 2026, following a Data Scientist role at Vonovia. My current independent work explores engineering an application around an AI agent, bringing that experimental background to questions of state, access boundaries and reliability.
